Health and Safety

Staff Health Surveillance

Marisco operates a health surveillance scheme to identify as early as possible any health issue affecting a staff member with a view to introducing any reasonable measures it can to assist them continue to carry out their duties at work with their immediate and continuing safety and long-term welfare in mind.

Marisco and its staff also have to deal with the added complications that arise from the fact that so many of our projects involve employees out on the road and working alone at a remote site, which is why our lone-worker policy is so important to follow.

Working in the construction trade is a physically demanding occupation, often carried out in adverse environmental conditions that will take its toll on even the fittest of individuals.

It therefore follows, that it is important we know about any employee who carries a new or pre-existing medical condition that may be adversely affected by the activities he or she undertakes at work.

There is an obvious obligation here for employees to bring to our attention, as your employer, any change in their medical fitness that may affect their ability to carry out the work we engage them for. Any disclosures will be treated in strict confidence and we will always work with any employee to change their working arrangements so as to not exacerbate their medical condition, including trying to find alternative work if possible.

If you have any concerns over any aspect of occupational health, please do not hesitate to contact any of the senior managers or directors to raise the matter, in the strictest of confidence.
