Only approved bona-fide contractors can work on Marisco sites.
Marisco managers must follow this procedure before any bona-fide contractor can begin working on site. The H&S Induction Control Sheet must be completed for all workers supplied by the contractor.
Contractors can apply to become approved by contacting our procurement department on (01202) 474001. In order to achieve approved status, applicants must provide:
Note 1: All councils and housing associations, together with many of our larger clients now stipulate all their subcontractors must match the stated terms of engagement to continue working on their projects. We in turm must insist our subcontractors comply with the same criteria if they wish to work with us.
It is understood by all contractors that any failure of their operatives to strictly observe the H&S safe working practices operated on each site, will result in those operatives at fault being asked to leave site. The contractor will indemnify Marisco against all costs arising from the need to ask operatives to leave site in these circumstances.
The definition of a bona-fide contractor is an entity providing their services and/or materials other than a labour-only subcontractor. A labour-only subcontractor is defined as an HMRC CIS-verified, self-employed individual, who will only supply their labour and no materials, working under the direct control and supervision of Marisco managers on each of the job they are asked to undertake. From April 2020, all labour-only workers will be engaged under a zero-hour contract of employment and paid under a PAYE deduction scheme.
